Movie Review: Music and Lyrics

Valentine's Day night and a great movie to watch with your hunnie! Music and Lyrics is a fantastic romantic comedy. It's very witty with cute songs.

It stars Hugh Grant (ahhhh love his eyes!) as a 80s pop star "has been" Alex Fletcher trying to revamp his career by writing a new song for the latest pop sensation (the sort of pop sensation ala Britney Spears).

He's trying to write the lyrics to the song when the plant watering lady spouts out some cute lines - he instantly wants her help! Drew Berrymore is the quirky plant watering lady, Sophie Fischer. She doesn't want to do it but her older sister (by 7 years) says she must as the sister is a huge fan of Alex Fletcher and his former pop group: Pop!

The movie follows the two as the come up with this new song and how they fall for each other in the process.

From what I understand, Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant do their own singing in the movie. I'm very impressed with how good they are at singing!

This is a great feel good movie - and Hugh Grant is enjoyable to watch.

I'd recommend this movie for the theater - especially with the concert scenes and such. It's a great date night movie!
