Movie Review: American Gangster
**Contains Spoilers***

Fantastic movie!! This movie was just so interesting and intriguing. It follows the true story of Frank Lewis, one of the most infamous drug suppliers. In made loads of moola by importing 100% heroin into the US through the military during the Vietnam War.

Denzel Washington was great in this role. He was so scary and cunning. He brought all of his family into the drug business with him. Built them up with millions and tore them apart in the end.

Russel Crowe plays Richie Roberts - the cop who leads the new Narcotics Unit in the NYCPD. During the course of the movie, he also passes the bar exam. The sad part about his story is that his career drives his ex and his son away from him, as he's in too dangerous of a line of work to allow him to have custody. He's also not liked by the other cops, because he outed the bad cops. But you really come to like his character quite a bit - atleast I did.

In fact, the arrest of Frank Lewis leads to the arrest of 3/4 of the drug enforcement department. Lewis recieved a reduced sentence and spent 15 (as compared to 70 years) in prison.
This is a movie to see in the theaters. I mean, it'll be good as a rental too - but it's worth the money to see it in a theater.
