Nathan's 4 Month Check Up

Nathan had his 4-month doctor appointment yesterday afternoon. We braved the -5 below temperatures to go to the doctor.

Nate now weighs in at 17 lbs even, which is in the 90th percentile. He's 28 inches long, which is the 100th percentile! We have a BIG BABY! I think he's going to be a linebacker someday..... The decision will just be Dawgs or Gophers....

The doctor also commented on his blue eyes, saying that by the color of blue that they are... she would be very surprised if they changed. She thinks he's going to be a blue eyed kid for good.

He got four vaccinations, two in each thigh. He was brave, just crying right when they were injected in his leg. He was smiling again when I got him dressed.

She said that we should be good to start trying some rice cereal once a day. She said to hold off on other baby foods until sometime between 5 and 6 months. And when we do do that, give him orange foods first (not sure why that is).

She also said that we need to start teaching him to fall asleep on his own... that means letting him cry :( We need to bring this overnight - early morning wake ups to an end.
