Iowa's 2009 Tornado Statistics

The National Weather Service in Des Moines came out with their 2009 tornado statistics today. Our state had a total of 25 tornadoes (compare to the 105 we had in 2008). Whew! The busiest month was June with 11 tornadoes (9 on June 21st alone). The prime time of day for tornadoes was between 6 and 7 PM.
