Fabulous Farmers Market

It's the most fabulous time of the year... Saturday mornings from May through October! The Des Moines Farmers Market on Court Avenue.

I never experienced farmers markets in the Atlanta Metro while growing up. And I can tell you, those folks are missing out! One of my favorite things about living in Des Moines is this market. It's 4 blocks, plus some, of fresh locally grown vegetables and fruits, plants, arts and crafts, handmade jewelery, fresh flowers, delicious pastries, breakfast burritos, homemade jellies and jams... and much much more!

We made our first trip to the market this past weekend. It was a glorious morning with blue skies and comfortable temperatures. Not only did we look at all the goods for sale, but we saw 3 policemen on horseback and 2 F22's flew overhead!

The market was a success! We came home with a bunch of asparagus for dinner and blueberry rhubarb jam for breakfast the next day. Is it next Saturday yet?!
